Car belonging to missing man located in Vernon Hills

Vernon Hills police have found the car belonging to a Lake Villa man reported missing last week.

33-year-old Nicholas Steward was last seen Friday September 20th.

Friends, family gather to search for missing manHe was driving a 2008 white Saturn Aura.  Around 5:30 pm, relatives say his I-Pass transponder and cell phone registered northbound on Interstate-294 at the Touhy Toll Plaza. His cell phone died and has not been turned on since.

His Saturn was located tonight by a police officer who was on an unrelated call.

Police say they see no signs of foul play.

The search for Steward continues tonight because authorities fear the bad weather could slow progress.
