Metra trains running again after suspicious package incident secured
Firefighters have secured the scene after a suspicious package was found on a Metra Electric District platform Wednesday morning in the South Loop, halting at least seven trains, authorities said.
The incident happened just after 7 a.m. Wednesday near Michigan Avenue and Van Buren Street.
Chicago police and fire department responded to the scene to investigate.
Police said the package appeared to be a cooler and pedestrians were being directed away from that area.
Metra train riders should expect residual delays.
