Woman charged in rollover Ike crash that killed 4, injured 4

A woman has been charged in the rollover crash that killed four people, injured another four and closed down the Eisenhower Expressway Thursday morning.

31-year-old Margot Santillan of Chicago has been charged with improper lane usage, failure to reduce speed and no valid drivers license, among other charges, according to Illinois State Police.

Four women were killed this morning when Santillan lost control of the Ford Explorer she was driving. He vehicle was traveling westbound near Addison and overturned  into a grassy area.

Three men and another woman were taken to the hospital.

The front seat passenger and the driver were wearing seatbelts.  The state police say it does not appear the other passenger were wearing seatbelts.

According to the state police, the Ford Explorer seems to be the only vehicle involved in the crash.

The outbound Eishenhower at Route 83 was completely shut down for several hours while police investigated

Police are asking  any witnesses to this crash to call 847-931-2405 ext. 205.

    Someone in Jessie Whites office needs to start an investigation into how a person with no driver's license and no insurance was able to buy–register a car and GET LICENSE PLATES for it. Ho can a compay hire a person to transport other people that has no driver's license? what kind of background checks do they do?? FOUR PEOPLE DEAD BECAUSE PEOPLE AS JUST TOO GREEDY OR LAZY TO DO A GOOD JOB

    Just saw the noon news and the commentator said that the woman in the I 290 accident was charged with improper lane useage, failure to reduce speed and "other charges." "OTHER CHARGES"? REALLY? How about no license and insurance. Interesting reporting.
