Pilot, wife killed in small plane crash in Bolingbrook

The pilot of the small plane that crashed in Bolingbrook died Thursday morning.

The 63 year-old man was pronounced dead at 5:45 a.m. at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood. His wife was killed at the scene Wednesday.

An aviation source tells WGN-TV the couple’s plane touched-down at Clow Airport just after 5 p.m., but it was too far down the runway due to shifting winds. So, they attempted a second landing. But, their plane hit a tree, a light pole, several cars, and then crashed in the parking lot of a Chase Bank at 262 S. Weber Road around 5:15 p.m.

No one on the ground was injured.

The victims were from Kentucky, but have not been identified. They left Kentucky around 3 p.m.

The FAA and the NTSB are investigating. They will take a special look into if the plane’s engine malfunctioned.

Thats was a sad tragedy in the town of Bolingbrook, that the two people has died in this horrific plane, in the rush hour traffic. That is not too far from the public library in that town nearby. My prayers goes out to the couple, who literally, died together in this plane crash on wednesday.
