A Northwestern University student is in the hospital after falling out a fraternity house window.

Junior Matthew Cooney fell from the window of the Phi Gamma Delta house around 9:30 Tuesday morning. He was trying to get out of his room after the lock on his door apparently became “inoperable.”

Cooney was found on the sidewalk by a passerby and transported to Evanston Hospital.

The University is investigating the incident but says there is no reason to suspect foul play.
