Lanes reopen after 4 killed in rollover crash on Eisenhower
Lanes have now reopened on the outbound Eisenhower Expressway following a rollover crash that killed four people.
The outbound Eishenhower at Route 83 was completely shut down for several hours while police investigated
The accident happened around 6:15 a.m. Thursday. The 2003 Ford Explorer had completely flipped over on its roof.
Illinois State Police Lt. Brian Windle said that a total of eight adults were in the vehicle — five females and three males. The four people killed were all female. The fifth female was driving, and was transported to an area hospital.
The three males were also taken to area hospitals, according to Addison Fire Chief Don Markowski.
None of the victims have been identified.
“Pending further investigation, speed and lack of seatbelt use were definitely the cause of this crash,” Windle said.
Police are asking any witnesses to this crash to call 847-931-2405 ext. 205.
