Making delicious baked apples and granola with Johanna Cook

Johanna Cook, founder of, shows how to make a delicious fall treat in a few simple steps.


3 Fuji or Gala apples – cut into halves and core

1.5 cups of your favorite granola

3 tablespoons of unsalted butter – melted

.5 cup of brown sugar

2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon

1 teaspoon of ground nutmeg

Your favorite vanilla ice cream


Heat the oven to 350 degrees.

Place the cored apples on a cookie sheet.

In a large bowl, gently toss the granola with butter, brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg.

Top the halved apples with granola.

Bake in the oven for 30-35 minutes, uncovered.

After about 35 minutes, let slightly cool and top with ice cream and/or whipped cream.
