Illinois prepares to mark Gettysburg Address anniversary

November 20th will mark the 150th anniversary of President Abraham Lincoln’s most famous speech, the Gettysburg Address.

Illinois will mark the occasion with a series of events.

On November 19th, a handwritten copy of the speech will be on display at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum in Springfield.

The next day a Lincoln impersonator will deliver the speech.  Schools nationwide can watch the performance via a live webcast.

    A small correction: The special display is the evening of Nov. 18, with the Gettysburg Address being recited at midnight. The anniversary is Nov. 19
