Mother, daughter found strangled and burned
The Cook County sheriff’s office conducting a homicide investigating of a mother and daughter who were strangled to death and found burned in a car in a forest preserve.
Just before midnight last night firefighters were called to the Cap Sauers Holdings Forest Preserve in Palos Park where a PT Cruiser completely engulfed in flames.
After extinguishing the fire, crews found the remains of two bodies. The mother in her 70s and the other the daughter in her 50s, according to Cook County Sheriff’s Spokesperson Ben Breit.
Cook County Sheriff’s Police says the women are from Chicago.
The Cook County Medical Examiner’s office says both died from strangulation.
Their names have not been released.
People who live nearby say this area is frequently patrolled by police and they never expected anything like this.
