Legally blind HS golfer sees success in his future despite odds
It’s a story that began with an e-mail. A father wrote to WGN to tell us about his son. We were so moved after reading about 17-year-old high school senior Matt Juskie, we thought you`d like to know about him as well.
Matt is a young man with an indomitable spirit, who despite the odds sees success in his future.
Matt would like continue his golf career and possibly play in college.
He writes a monthly column for the Illinois Association for Parents of Children with Visual Impairments – with the hope to help others facing similar challenges
Matt had to reach out to the IHSA to get permission to have a spotter on the course. The organization was very quick to respond, and now he carries this letter with him to meets, just in case opposing teams have any questions about his special circumstance.
