Suburban dealership sued over harassment to Arab, Muslim staff
A lawsuit filed in court today accuses Rizza Cadillac in Tinley Park of creating a hostile work environment for Arab and Muslim staff.
The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission filed the suit. In it, it alleges three employees were harassed at the dealership from January 2007 – November 2009.
The harassment included the regular use of offensive slurs, including “terrorist,” “sand n—-r,” and “Hezbollah,” as well as mocking and insulting references to the Qur’an and the manner in which Muslims pray,” a statement from the Chicago Office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, who represents the employees, said.
Rizza Cadillac has yet to respond to the suit.
