Mother’s boyfriend expected to be charged in 3-year-old’s death

A 24-year-old man is expected to be charged in connection with the shooting death of a 3-year-old in LaPorte County, Indiana.

Three-year-old Lance Wilson was shot and killed Sunday afternoon in Michigan City.

Zachariah L. Grisham, who is the boyfriend of the child’s mother, is being held in the La Porte County Jail awaiting a probable cause hearing that is scheduled to take place Monday. He is facing potential charges of Neglect of a Dependent, a Class A felony, and Reckless Homicide, a Class C felony.

The shooting occurred inside a mobile home in Terrace Acres.

Police have not released any information regarding how the child was shot.  No one else was hurt.

A relative of the child described the shooting to the Northwest Indiana Times as a “tragic accident” that was not intentional.

This is a developing story. Check back for details.

I'd charge him too, this isn't the kind of accident you dismiss. There's no reason to be goofing with a loaded gun with the kids around.

How sad, both parents should be charged. Some people have no right being parents. Who plays cops and robbers with a loaded pistol?
