A local 2nd grader commemorated the 9-11 tragedy by giving back to the people he considers heroes.
7-year-old Travis Hall learned about the 9-11 attacks a couple of years ago and he’s been giving back ever since.
He gets food donations from local restaurants, then feeds first responders in Northlake and Leyden Township a special meal on the 9-11 anniversary.
He also raises cash: $343 dollars, one dollar for each first responder killed when the Twin Towers collapsed, then donates the money to the fire department’s Fill the Boot campaign for muscular dystrophy.
