End to hot spell looms

A definitive end to the current hot spell looms—though warming is likely to resume again next week. A northward-buckling jet stream over western North America later this week, is to send steering winds cascading southeastward into the Midwest by Friday. It’s a development which is to eject the hot air mass currently in control while directing cooler, far less humid Canadian air into the area.

Temps are likely to dive from early week mid-90-degree levels to the upper 60s or near 70 by week’s end.
