Seventy iPads and iPods were stolen from a School in Lake Zurich.

The electronics are worth $20,000.

The theft took place sometime Tuesday night at Seth Paine Elementary School. Lake Zurich Police were called to the Lake Zurich Community Unit School District 95 building by a custodian just after 7 a.m. Thursday.

There is an alarm in the school, but it did not go off during the robbery. Jean Malek,  spokesperson for the school district said the thief or thieves, “appear to have entered through a classroom or more than one classroom.” Malek also added that an air-conditioning unit appeared to have been kicked out in one of the rooms.

Students typically start showing up around 8:15 a.m., Malek said. The school was cleared before kids arrived, according to officials.

Authorities declined to say whether police had any suspects in mind, though he did say there was a “starting point.” No arrests have been made.
