A Chicago man was arrested and charged with murdering a woman and hiding her body in a closet in his apartment.
Police arrested 20-year-old Benjamin Esquivel on Monday. Police tell the Chicago Tribune Esquivel’s mother, with whom he shared the apartment with, discovered the body of 49-year-old Burnadine Kinsey on Friday. She left the apartment and when she returned Monday, she and her daughter found the body still in the closet. They called 911.
Prosecutors say Esquivel has sex with Kinsey and then got into an argument with her. He stabbed her repeatedly and then hid her body in the closet of his mother’s home.
Prosecutors say Esquivel contacted 37-year-old Juan Ramos, a friend, and the two men bought a plastic tarp and duct tape and discussed how to get rid of the body.
Ramos was arrested Tuesday and is charged with concealment of a homicide.
Bail was set for Esquivel at $1 million, and for Ramos at $250,000.
