Whole Foods to build in Englewood neighborhood

A major grocery store chain will open a new store in the Englewood neighborhood.

Whole Foods announced its intention to open the new store at 63rd and Halsted, sometime in 2016; the groundbreaking is later Wednesday morning.

The company expects to employ about 100 people at the new store.

Whole Foods already has 18 stores in the Chicago area, and new ones planned for Hyde Park, Lake Forest and Park Ridge.

    whole foods will not price residents out . Taxpayers foot the bill have you ever heard of LINK CARD!!!!!!! Great move whole foods.

    making shade-grown, free-trade, organic white asparagus available to the Southside should definitely alleviate the "food desert" problem.

    Wow! They deleted my comment. Because I told the truth. We will be paying for the people of Englewood to shop at Whole Foods. Is that better?
