Family and friends of a missing baby in Zion will urge the mayor at a city council meeting Tuesday night to continue the search for the little boy.
Crews have been looking for five month-old Joshua Summeries in a landfill.
His mother’s boyfriend, Demetries Thorpe, is charged with murder. Police say he tried to calm the boy as the child cried and suffocated him. They say he put the baby’s body in a backpack, and tossed it into a dumpster. Thorpe later told Joshua’s mother the boy was abducted.
Joshua’s mother wants an expanded search of the landfill.
The meeting begins at 7 p.m.
