Several people are being questioned as police investigate a robbery at a Chicago Public Elementary school. The thieves broke into Drake Elementary school on the 2700 block of South Dearborn Street, according to police and CPS officials.
Authorities said it happeneded sometime Thursday night 8:45p.m. and 2:35 a.m. Police said they are not going to release the number of devices stolen, however did confirm that I-Pad tablets and notebook computers were taken from the school. Some of the stolen items have already been recovered through equipment tracking technology and surveillance video.
The computers were promised to the school for taking in students required to change buildings following the closure of more than 50 CPS schools this year.
No one had been taken into custody.
