Several shot, 1 dead, in violent Labor Day
One person was killed and at least another two people injured today in shootings on the city’s West and South Sides
The fatal shooting took place at about 2 p.m. in the 6600 block of South Rhodes Ave.
A man believed to be in his 20’s was shot in the head and declared dead at the University of Chicago Medical Center.
About 30 minutes later, a man was shot twice in the 6300 block of South King Drive and was taken away in critical condition.
A 16-year-old was shot in the chest around 5:30 this afternoon.
The teen was shot near 105th and LaSalle St in the Roseland neighborhood.
Police say they have a suspect in custody.
A 36-year-old man was shot near the parking lot of a Jewel around 6:30 p.m. The shooting occurred near 117th and Marshfield on the South Side.
A third man was shot in the leg earlier this morning in the 4200 block of West 15th Street.
