Mild week after storms clear out

A band of thunderstorms producing a considerable amount of lightning is spreading south into the Chicago area. The storms are capable of producing gusty winds to  60 mph or higher and very heavy rain.

At 6:39 pm a confirmed tornado was located near Serena, according to the National Weather Service.
