A teenage boy was critically wounded in a shooting in the Uptown neighborhood.

The unidentified teen was shot in the head just before 6 p.m. Saturday as he and his sister were visiting their mother in the 1000 block of West Wilson.

Witnesses said there was a confrontation leading up the shooting, but insist the boy was not a gang member.

He was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic for treatment.

Police are trying to determine if another man who walked into Weiss Memorial Hospital with a gunshot wound to the wrist was wounded in that same incident.
