Air condition units stolen from South Side church
A South Side church and community center is without air conditioning after thieves gutted eight units from the building’s roof.
Christ Universal Church was preparing for services on Sunday when church officials noticed the air conditioning wasn’t working.
A repair man later found the units gutted. The copper, inner parts and compressors had all been taken.
Church officials say they don’t know how they’re going to pay to replace the units, and worry they might have to shut down.
Hall says each unit will cost $10,000 dollars to replace.
Police are investigating the incident.
