Man shot in neck on Safe Passage route

A man was shot in the neck along a CPS Safe Passage route on the city’s West Side.

Police say it happened in the 1400 block of South Tripp, just after 11:30 p.m. Sunday.

The man is 28 years old and was taken to the hospital.

The safe passage route is set to be used by kids in the area on their way to school.

No one is in custody.

    Just bc the city puts up signs that read "Safe Passage", doesn't make it safe, unless there's a bulletproof bubble around the passages! Dumbest idea. These ppl that commit the crimes don't care!

      Have you seen the signs? You can’t hide behind them, they are 7-8 feet off the ground!
