Million Father March urges dads to get involved

With the first day of school for most CPS students coming Monday, there’s a group that want to make sure fathers are involved in their children’s education.

The Black Star Project organized today’s third annual Million Father March. Many local organizations joined in the festivities all urging fathers and men in general to be good role models for kids as they get ready to take on a new school year.

Organizers of the march also asked fathers to walk their children to school Monday morning, stressing the importance of a good education.

THIS IS A JOKE , RIGHT. WITH FATHERS OR BOYFRIENDS OR WHATEVERS, KILLING CHILDREN. WE NEED TO EDUCATE THE PEOPLE FIRST, BEFORE THEY DECIDE TO HAVE CHILDREN…YOU CANNOT TEACH WHAT YOU ARE NOT ACCUSTOMED TO….

One look at the photo and the hand gesture thing these men are doing makes me wonder just what kind of mentality is supposedly trying to lead other folks to do the right thing. Seriously, lose the gang hand symbol thing and join the normal human race for crying out loud. Grow up and be a normal part of society already.

Their affiliation is with Omega Psi Phi, which is a college fraternity. The police should take note that these are college educated men that are actually doing something positive for their community. They did not get caught up in the stereotypes that everyone have and pursued college degrees, are upstanding citizens and give back to the community.
