Personal data of 4M patients at risk after Advocate burglary

chi-advocate-health-break-in-20130823The personal information of more than 4 million Chicagoland medical patients is up for grabs.

Advocate Medical Group officials announced Friday that four computers were stolen July 15 from a Park Ridge administrative building.

Those computers had patients’ names, addresses, Social Security numbers and dates of birth but no medical records or personal financial information.

They say nothing leads them to believe the computers were taken for the information contained on them.

If you are one of the people on the list, you’ll get a letter in the mail.
