Three weeks after Governor Quinn signed the bill legalizing medical marijuana in Illinois, advocates of the drug from across the country will convene downtown.

The National Cannabis Industry Association holds its first ever Midwest gathering at the Embassy Suites Downtown tomorrow.

Organizers hope the symposium will help prepare investors and entrepreneurs for Illinois’ new medical cannabis industry.

The keynote speaker will be Steve DeAngelo, the founder of Harborside Health Center of California.

Harborside has locations in San Jose and Oakland and is the nation’s largest non-profit dispensary of Medical Marijuana with more than 128,000 registered patients.
