Skilling: ‘Million Dollar rain’ falls over Chicagoland

A million dollar rain over continues to fall over  the metro area!

The biggest totals have been reported south and west of city including 5.00″ Creston/Ogle Co; 3.18″ Oglesby; 2.91″ at the U of I Research Farm-DeKalb Co; 2.21 Marseilles; 2.19″ Streator; 2.12″ (just updated) Peotone; 2.10″ Manteno; 1.90″ Far west RFD; 1.74″ Aurora; 1.39 RFD; 1.50″ Coal City (Grundy Co); 1.07″ DeKalb; 1″ Plainfield; 0.93″ Sycamore; 0.66″ Crystal Lake; 0.53″ Joliet; 0.33″ Lansing; 0.17 O’Hare.

Summer rains fall notoriously unevenly with a number of areas reporting MUCH lighter totals!

The rain should continue for another one to three hours before tapering or ending completely between 3PM and 5PM.  Little or no sun should be counted on until this evening.

While the evening hours definitely look drier, a stray sprinkle or shower cannot be completely ruled out.
