Teen charged in shooting of boy, 7, in West Garfield Park

A juvenile has been charged with the weekend shooting of a 7-year-old boy in West Garfield Park.

Tyvion Jackson, 7, was shot Sunday night while carrying his cousin’s bicycle into his home.

His mother says they had just returned from a picnic.

The 15-year-old suspect is charged with aggravated battery and discharging a firearm.

Tyvion is the ninth child, 7-years-old or younger, to be shot in Chicago in less than two months.

    A 15 year old off to a good start in life. Maybe some time in jail might help.
