Humidity kicks in: Skilling 7 Day Forecast
Tuesday was set to be the warmest day in nearly 2 weeks with temps surging well into the 80s and our deteriorating moisture situation continuing.
While much warmer than in recent weeks, the real heat appears to be on tap next week when late season 90s appear a good bet.
The period since July 1 is the driest on record in 69 years in Chicago having produced 3.24″ of moisture–less than half (47%) the normal of 6.84″. And with models kicking out an average grand total of 0.29″ of moisture (that’s an average of the rainfall projections off a collection of computer models)–an amount just 27% of normal (1.06″)–the situation isn’t going to get any better.
