Cook County wildlife crews tagging turtles to track whereabouts

Did you know that every summer, wildlife crews wade out into forest preserve wetlands to pull out turtles of all kinds and sizes?

They then draw blood, take measurements and tag the reptiles all to learn more about how they live.

Their goal is to keep track of all the turtles in Cook County, from small varieties to 50 lbs snapping turtles.

WGN’s Robert Jordan got a closer look at the secret lives of those turtles by tagging along with wildlife experts.
