3 injured, including 2 teens, in Park Manor shooting

Three people were hurt, including two teenagers, in a shooting in the Park Manor neighborhood.

It happened Wednesday night in the 400 block of east 71st Street around 11:30 p.m.

Police say the teens were walking together, when a man came out of an alley and opened fire.

16-year-old Leroy Bryant was shot several times in the chest, and taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital in critical condition.

Doctors said he was out of surgery, but lost a kidney and isn’t out of the woods yet.

A 15-year-old girl was shot in the leg, and was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital in good condition.

A 49-year-old man walked into the University of Chicago Hospital with a gunshot wound to the groin and is also in good condition, police said.

They believe the incident was a case of mistaken identity.

So far, no suspects are in custody.

Seriously…it's 15 and 16 year olds doing the shooting too. There shouldn't just be a parental curfew, there needs to be a city wide curfew of 10 p.m. for anyone under 18. In some areas the whole damned neighborhood needs to go into lockdown after dark.
