The Cubs try to avoid the sweep today. For some reason, they can’t seem to beat the Reds at home, having dropped 14 of 15 dating back to last year. The Cubs are 23-35 at Wrigley, which is the worst home record in the entire National League.
Many have tried to figure out why the Cubs have struggled so much at home, but I think the best answer is the simplest — it is just a terribly inconsistent club overall. I don’t see it as a “Wrigley” problem by any stretch. If this trend were to last over several seasons, maybe we could come up with some sort of reason, but I believe it’s random.
The wind is blowing in AGAIN and we will get to the bottom of the weird weather this summer with Tom Skilling in the 7th inning. Enjoy the ballgame!
