A Will County judge set bond Monday at $1 million for the man accused in a very public murder.

Prosecutors say Christopher Thompson walked into Louis’ Family Restaurant Sunday morning in Joliet and shot to death Gerardo Franchini.

The murder took place right in front of the man’s wife and two young children.

Both men had previously served time behind bars on various drug charges.

Authorities have not provided a motive for the shooting.
