One person is dead and 11 others injured after a driver plowed through the famous Venice Beach boardwalk in California.
It happened at about 6pm PST Saturday at Venice Beach in Los Angeles.
Witnesses say the driver appeared to have intentionally driven onto the crowded sidewalk and plowed into at least a dozen people before speeding off.
Some witnesses say the car was speeding as the driver swerved into people, sending bodies flying.
Police say the driver turned himself in about an hour later.
The driver’s identity has not been released, however they face homicide charges in addition to felony hit-and-run charges.
Ten of the 12 people injured were taken to hospitals, two are in critical condition and one died. Two others are in serious condition.
Of the eight who sustained minor injuries, two declined hospital treatment.
