A town hall meeting was held tonight to debate retrofitting city highrises with fire sprinklers.

The state fire marshal is pressuring owners of older high-rises to install sprinklers and upgrade their buildings to make them safer in the event of a blaze, but some Chicago aldermen say the suggested changes would be too costly.

The meeting will be attended by State Rep Kelly Cassidy,Ā  Alderman Osterman, Alderman Moore, Alderman James Cappleman, State Senator Heather Steans and State Representative Greg Harris.
