Girl, 4, shot while riding scooter in Marquette Park
Chicago police are looking for the men who shot a four year-old as she rode a scooter outside her grandmother’s house in the Marquette Park neighborhood. A 31 year-old man was also wounded in the buttocks.
The little girl, Khalis Weatherspoon, was wounded in the stomach at 71st and Rockwell on Monday. She is in good condition at Mount Sinai Hospital.
Witnesses say two men stepped out from an alley, and opened-fire on people on a porch.
“My grandbaby don’t even know what a gun is. She don’t even own a gun. I mean, it’s crazy. You know, then she gets shot by a gun. That’s crazy,” said Richard Spires, Weatherspoon’s grandfather.
A prayer vigil will be held Tuesday at the scene of the shooting.
