Saturday marks the 60th anniversary of the truce that ended the Korean War.

Dozens of Korean war veterans attended a memorial service in Chicago’s Morgan Park neighborhood Friday.

The neighborhood is home to one of the first monuments to honor those who served in what has been called “The Forgotten War”.

The Korean war began in 1950 and lasted three years.

Although the fighting ended, experts say there has never been a formal peace treaty.
