Man injured in apartment fire on North Side
One man is in critical condition after a fire broke out in a West Rogers Park apartment building where he was doing finishing-work on a floor.
A spokesman for the Chicago Fire Dept said the worker was possibly sanding the floor inside one unit of the multi-unit building.
The victim suffered burns to his legs and was taken to St Francis hospital in Evanston.
The apartment was vacant at the time and all other residents in other units of the building managed to escape without injury.
One firefighter suffered a minor eye injury. and also went to St Francis.
