Chicagoland continues to sweat through a heat wave with stifling levels of humidity.
A Heat Advisory has been issued for all of northeast Illinois and northwest Indiana from 11 a.m. Thursday until 7 p.m. Friday.
Temperatures are expected to reach the mid-90s Thursday and Friday with heat indices from 100-106 degrees.
The hot streak will end thanks to a cold front that is expected to move through the region Friday afternoon and Friday night. With the front comes a chance for showers and storms and a slight risk some storms could be severe.
A cooler and less humid weekend is forecast, but there is a slight chance for a few showers or thunderstorms Saturday and Sunday.
