Cook County Board is considering more than $500,000 in settlements to workers fired by Assessor Joe Berrios. And Cook County taxpayers are expected to pay for it.
Berrios fired those workers so that he could hire family members.
Those settlements range from $1,000 to $95,000.
Berrios took over the Assessors office in 2010.
He then hired his son, his sister and a trusted lawyer from his previous position.
Berrios says he thought it was “ok” to fire the other workers because they were “at-will” employees.

Yet another reason I will never again spend ONE CENT in Crook County.

Cook County (or should I say Crook County) should make Berrios pay for these settlements himself and then he should be ousted as Cook County Assessor.

I agree He should pay for these settlements for being dumb and stupid. Oops I forgot crooked as hell.

Fire the SOB now!….and freeze his bank accounts to pay for HIS damages.

Cook county tax payers should sue Berrios. In fact, I think I will get together a class action claim.
