Hard to believe today is our final broadcast of the first half. Seems like just yesterday we were gathering in Mesa, AZ to kick off spring training. Although, I will say, it feels like JD has been part of the “team” for a long time. He has settled in seamlessly and comfortably and I couldn’t be happier with how things have gone in the booth.
And as I mentioned the other day, this team has been really impressive lately. All the areas seem to be jelling at the same time for the first time this season and that has meant a consistent stretch of winning baseball.
Cubs’ #1 pick Kris Bryant is at the park today to celebrate his signing and to top off the good vibes, all reports point to the Cubs being pretty close to the finish line in terms of getting the Wrigley Field restoration project officially approved and underway.
I don’t want to get over my skis, but is it too much to ask to have the Cubs sweep the Cardinals this weekend as a cherry on top of the sundae?
