Driver pleads guilty in Bucktown beating of 2 women

The woman who acted as the getaway driver the night an Irish exchange student and her friend were beaten and robbed, has agreed to testify against the man who attacked them.

Marcy Cruz, 28, pleaded guilty to attempted murder Tuesday, and agreed to testify against Heriberto Viramontes, 33, at his scheduled trial on September 9.

He’s accused of beating Natasha McShane and her friend unconscious with a bat in Bucktown three years ago.

McShane can no longer speak or walk. She now lives in Northern Ireland.

Her friend, Stacy Jurich, has recovered.

The post by "spa" is right on the money…these two morons should be sleeping with the fish. Hopefully prison justice will see how tough both of them are, since they won't have the use of a baseball bat against innocent women. My heart goes out to the victims, one in particular in Ireland because she faced so much rehab (and probably still does). I'm still wondering why this is 3 years down the line and the other low-life still hasn't had his trial. May he rot in prison!!

a 22 year sentence is all she received, and she is as culpable because it was a planned attack. One can only hope that her testimony puts him away forever.
