It has been an interesting roadtrip to say the least. The Cubs complete what will be a winning trip today here in Oakland. Let’s recap some of the big news over the past couple weeks since the Cubs left Chicago:
They cut and traded Carlos Marmol, released Ian Stewart from AAA, sat Starlin Castro for the first time in about 270 games to get him jump-started, brought up Brian Bogusevic (who was tearing up AAA pitching), lost Ryan Sweeney to a broken rib, traded Scott Feldman and Steve Clevenger, acquired players and international pool money in one 3-trade day (Jake Arrieta, Pedro Strop and Matt Gurrier being the pitchers added to the organization) and DFA’d Shawn Camp.
Other than that, it’s been a pretty boring trip.
