Waukegan police chief resigns post after false military claims
Waukegan is looking for a new police chief.
Chief Robert Kerkorian resigned Sunday after less than two months on the job, after admitting he lied on his job application when he claimed that he trained as a Navy Seal.
A Chicago Tribune investigation exposed the lie.
Kerkorian will be demoted to the rank of Police Commander.
Deputy Chief Wayne Walles becomes the Acting Police Chief.
