Blue Line trips from O’Hare rise in cost

Riders taking the CTA Blue Line from O’Hare International Airport will see a hike in fare, which went into effect this morning.

The price more than doubles beginning today from $2.25 to $5 between the airport and downtown, but people using a Chicago Card avoid the higher fare.

CTA officials hope to collect about $4 million more through the end of the year.

10,000 riders will use Blue Line trains on an average weekday.

Why are the airport workers so damm special? How about all the people who work downtown on the blue makn 10-12 bucks an hour where is the price break for them? Totaly unfair! Besides the being a total money grab for the cta as it is!

CTA should control costs instead of raising fares 100%.
