Bond set at $1M for brother suspected of shooting athlete

Bond was set at one million dollars for a south side teen suspect of killing his brother who was a star athlete at a Chicago high school.

Michael Whitney is charged with involuntary manslaughter and unlawful use of a weapon by a felon.

Police say Michael Whitney claims the gun went off accidentally. A bullet struck Malcolm Whitney in the head killing him.

Malcolm was a star on the Hyde Park Academy basketball team.

      Something tells me the parents didn't have a gun and that the brother had it for other reasons…
