Good news for Chicago drivers: more free Sunday parking starts this weekend.

Its part of the deal Mayor Emanuel worked out with the private company managing the city’s metered parking.

Street parking will be free on Sundays, anywhere north of North Avenue, south of Roosevelt, or west of Halsted.

But there’s a tradeoff for free Sundays? Street parking in the River North area, from the river, north to Division, will cost you every night until midnight.

Everywhere else, parking must be paid until 10 p.m.
