Evanston hosted its 2nd gun buyback program in six months, after a successful campaign in December that netted 45 firearms.
Evanston residents received $100 dollars for up to two functioning firearms they turned in.
The transaction fell under the amnesty umbrella which halts police enforcement action as a result of the turn-in.
Ammunition clips and magazines were also accepted.
The buyback event began at noon and was scheduled to end at 4 PM.
