Cubs Game Notes For Friday @ Seattle

* The Mariners lost to the Pirates on Wednesday, 4-2, for their fifth defeat in the last seven contests. Over the last 10 games, Seattle pitchers have a 5.63 ERA (55/88.0) and opponents are hitting .323 against them.

* Seattle is last in the American League with a .228 average versus left-handed pitching. The Mariners are 7-15 in interleague contests dating back to June 9, 2012.

* Raul Ibanez has nine home runs in June, which is tied for the American League lead (Chris Davis); his 20 RBI this month is tied for third in the AL.

* Travis Wood is tied for the major league lead with 14 quality starts; Hisashi Iwakuma is tied for second in the American League with 12 quality outings.

* In 23 career games as the designated hitter, Alfonso Soriano is hitting .365 (27/74), with seven homers, 20 RBI and a 1.141 OPS.
